  • ​Topic for 2025. Research and describe your Mayflower ancestor (select one, if you have several). Points may include where he lived in England, his family members, if he lived in Leiden, his impact and history with the Mayflower Colony, and how his life may have influenced his future generations.

  • Directions. Create a single-spaced essay of 1,000 words or less, using 16-point Times New Roman font. Use appropriate citations, including a bibliography. Your name should not appear on any part of the essay to ensure fair judging.

  • ​Current enrollment in a high school, four-year college or university, or graduate degree program.​​

​

  • Relationship to current Oklahoma society member(s), whose dues have been paid for 2025. The relationship may be by birth, adoption, or marriage. (See the statement on the application form.)

​​​​​

  • ​Application Form (in fillable PDF). Please submit this form as soon as possible so the Scholarship Committee may contact the persons listed as references.

​

  • Transcript from the most recent school (if you are a college student, a high school transcript is not needed). Grades from the most recent semester completed must be included.

​

  • Character References. The Scholarship Committee will correspond by email with the persons you list for the Academic Character Reference and the Community Character Reference. This will be in the form of a short survey, and the response will be sent directly to the committee. Please let them know of this procedure and to look for our email.

​

  • Essay. By far, the most important part of your application is the completion of a thoughtful, well-written essay exploring an aspect of the history of the Mayflower experience and its significance today.​
